A 4-week program for becoming an entrepreneur activist

Watching the fascist and bullying behaviors of this administration has left many of us shocked and horrified. We are in dangerous times and need brave leadership more than ever.

For Dr. Virginia Lacayo, this is not new. She has seen this many times in her life. From an early age, she has fought against systemic oppression in Central America. She was a boots-on-the-ground activist who later became a world-renowned expert on systems thinking and social change. Since then, she has dedicated her life to teaching activists to think systemically, develop mental resilience, tap into collective intelligence, and much more. She calls this activist mindset, “Indomable”, a Spanish word that loosely translates to “unable to be tamed.”

Virginia has taught her Indomable approach to thousands of activists fighting against injustice in Latin America. Now, she is making her activist training available to US small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to use their businesses, brands, and resources to fight against unconstitutional, inhumane policies and tactics.

Why small business owners? Because you are often the pulse of your communities. You know your employees, customers, and neighbors by name. You know what it means to lead and think creatively. You sincerely care about what is happening, but you’ve likely felt helpless, asking, “What can I do”?

The answer is: You can become Indomable.

Introducing Bootstrapping Justice
A 4-week program for becoming an entrepreneur activist

Virginia has distilled the most essential elements of her 30 years+ activist training into a 4-week program specifically designed to provide entrepreneurs with a foundational set of skills to fight back: an unbreakable mindset, systemic leadership skills, brand building, and community activation. This program takes you beyond protesting and calling your elected officials to becoming a force for social change in your community.

Program Structure

This 4-week program blends live virtual workshops, tools and templates, and a private WhatsApp group.

Week 0 Kickoff: Onboarding call, intros, + mindset assessment.

Week 1: Handling the Blowback
When you fight the system, the system fights back. So it is essential to develop resilience against fear and backlash through understanding how your mind reacts under this kind of pressure. This module covers critical thinking, emotional regulation, establishing boundaries, and handling burnout.

Week 2: System Dynamics

To effectively fight (and change) a system, you first have to see the system. In this module, you will learn the foundations of systems thinking and essential systemic leadership skills. You will learn how to identify pressure points to leverage your business and brand in more effective ways, and you will learn how to tap into the collective power of your community.

Week 3: Taking a Stand with Your Brand (co-facilitated with Justin Foster)

Your brand is one of the best and most readily available resources to leverage because you already have a platform and a following. In this module, you will learn how to organize your brand messaging around taking a stand and how to enroll your peers, employees, customers, and other leaders in your sphere of influence.

Week 4: Activate and Sustain

Activism is an action word, not an opinion. In this module, you will integrate what you’ve learned into a 90-day action plan and have the opportunity to receive feedback on your plan from Virginia and other participants. We will also cover measuring success, scaling your efforts, coalition-building, and risk mitigation.

If you are already speaking up, that is a great start. Now it is time to stand up and take action.

The kick-off call for the first cohort is on March 25th

Each session is two hours and will likely be held on Wednesdays at 11am CST.
